Do you move well on the ground and in the air, but get stuck on how to transition in-between? The dance trapeze and lyra present many options for fluid motion, and the goal of this workshop is to practice flowing with the apparatus. We will use several movement techniques to smooth out transitions from ground to air, and use improvisation to spark creativity. She has developed curriculum as a college dance professor, K-12 teacher, somatics educator, RYT-200 (yoga instructor), and aerial instructor since 2008. Julianna's focus is training the body/mind from different perspectives, particularly using Laban Movement Analysis. Having written her master's thesis on the process of making an aerial dance, her passion is integrating the function of the body with personal expression.
